COMMERCIAL INTERIORS ~ MY SPECIALTY IS HISTORICAL DECOR
Drawing on an educational and professional background spanning 40+ years in  communications, humanities, photojournalism, history, the healing arts, and a stint as Visitor Services Director at our Capitol ~ ~ I started creating Photo-History Wall Decor using Photographs from my collection and my client's history. The process is I work with my clients to discover a theme, history and style. Beautiful to look at and one-of-kind photographic displays  that tell compelling stories that reflect your location, history and /or industry. From newspaper layouts to slide-tape shows to traveling historical installations for the State of Washington I branched out to create Photo History Art Collections and then , in league with Keg Restaurants and Tony Roma's and then into dentist and doctor's offices,  lobbies and hotel rooms! Now the digital revolution makes for even more ways to  create and craft timeless Collections that capture the genuine people, places, and events behind our beautiful and forever interesting  past. Your staff, visitors and clients with enjoy these for many years to come. Check out my Client List

Shadow Catchers est. 1989, is the business name I choose while making Visual Exhibits during Washington's Centennial year to both honor my home and Washington's Most Famous Photographer and my personal hero as the Gallery and Distribution arm for my Collection as it was quickly turning into a Stock Photo Company. Shadow Catchers was the name early Native Americans referred to Curtis – believing the large black box camera could capture spirits. I agree. Afterall, as long as the photo exists doesn't that captured moment exist ~ if only in our Memory or in our Imaginations?
I have been making photographs since I was a child in the 1950's learning from my father; became a professional in the  '70's and in the early 1980's started collecting in earnest realizing how many photographic archives had been lost to time, neglect and ignorance. Blending skills and education I created a career in 'Right Livelihood' doing what I love, what is endlessly interesting and is necessary and important. Gathering, protecting and sharing my home regions history. As incredibly fast it changed before my eyes and keep sacred for generations to come. Born and raised in this wet, mysterious gorgeous place of primal forests, snow capped mountains and water everywhere in the great Salish Sea is what I cherish  ~ and the visuals and stories that I share with you.

~ FAQ's ABOUT ONLINE GALLERIES ~
(1) Yes, there are different Versions of the original photograph made. USE the ID# when Ordering!
The Reason: For my first 20+ years in the Darkroom as I was taught I honored the photographer by doing 'straight prints' to print from Jeffers 8x10 negatives - I didn't alter the photographer's vision. After the ugly RC papers overtook the beautiful fiber-based ones and digitization arrived - I began to repair and restore these real faces and places and, allowed myself to edit their originals. Sacrilege  and now I 'play' with those original photographs - as I believe that those photographers would have also 'progressed' with the technology and edited and also made other versions of their work. Currently, with Ai software I have brought back from the Shadows of Time severely damaged negatives and photographs - and believe that 'if the photo exists' those things will not be forgotten and importantly - lost to historians and appreciators of the Art of Photography in the future. So, there are Versions. And, so...
IT'S IMPORTANT TO PROVIDE THE CORRECT ID ON THE PICTURE YOU WANT.
(2) Yes, Logos are annoying but sadly I have to protect my hard work, financial investment and assets from the vultures. who are too lazy or cheap to do their own collections.
(3) Your print or licensed image is digitally made from OLD originals and even though I edit and some extensively - it may have old-age flaws I can't repair. The Art receive is guaranteed to be the best I can output given the old negatives. If you hesitate...or if you don't know my work ~ Check out Commissions for Places you can see it firsthand.
(4) Finally - New photos added regularly as I update from my older websites and, as always
